Ok! Time to add a blog page ! So far the book has been in official development for about 2 months. I have managed to accrue approximately 68 recipes so far and thanks to the generosity of some friends, both old and new, I have managed to add a couple of international dishes (such as a Danish Dream Cake) to the mix! Despite progress currently being slow because of a new job, I am determined to get the bones of this book down before Christmas! Mainly so that I can release (probably here) some nice, simple and tasty Christmas treats for anyone who may want them! One thing I would like to mention, that I should have mentioned before, is some of the inspiration for this book. Much of it comes from close family and friends, such as my partner Jon and my best friend and sister Katy, who were always at my side during the worst of my own depression and who gave me a reason to cook. Thanks to them I developed simple ways to make some of my signature dishes and favourite treats to be able to keep them well fed throughout university. Looking before then the initial idea came from an old friend and colleague Sanne, who worked with me during my 'teen years' and who was the first person to show me how amazing vegetarian food could be ! (homemade pumpkin soup, my goodness that hits the spot!) These days though I look not just to them, but also to 'celebrity' chefs. The obvious Gordon Ramsey is a large inspiration for some of my dishes (and some of the 'attitude' but a lot also comes from an under-appreciated youtube chef called Barry. For those who do not know him, Barry runs a channel called MyVirginKitchen. (he also appears alongside Ashens who is well worth watching for the dry humour and the snark !) Whilst I first stumbled on his channel because of his massive and tiny food series, he also does other things, such as see-through crisps, chocolate pasta and much much MUCH more! On top of this, his welcoming smile and joking nature brings a feeling to his videos that no matter what mood you are in, for the half an hour or so that they last, you feel a little happier and more motivated to try anything. Please check out his channel if you can, it's worth your time I promise! Some of the current recipes to be added !

AuthorI am a 25 year old hailing from Burgundy, France. My interest in cooking began around the age of 7 when I was first taught how to make a crumble! Ever since I haven't stopped cooking and have had the honour of working as a chef for a few years before pursuing University to fulfil my dream of becoming a teacher! Archives
